What is Surf Mobility and Fitness?

This is not your average exercise class. Instead of holding static stretches to increase flexibility, these sessions aim to move you through ranges of motion in a more dynamic fashion, to increase overall functionality. Furthermore, building your body’s control to get in and out of positions will allow you to build strength and mobility all at the same time.
Why do surf mobility?
Whether you're a regular surfer, just starting out, or a weekend warrior; you want to maximise your potential for that precious time in the water. By increasing your physical preparedness on land, you can help access the peak of your surfing capability, each time you get in the water.
Professional surfers such as Jordy Smith, Coco Ho and Mahina Maeda are incorporating similar movements into their own training. This is due to the integral importance of building strength and mobility in key areas such as the hip, knee and ankle for surfing performance.
However, this type of bodyweight training is also perfectly aimed to help the progression of your surfing. Whether it be from beginner to intermediate, intermediate to advanced, or at the elite level. Free your movement, and unlock your surfing.
The movements and exercises revolve around developing those muscles we’re not used to using, counteracting muscular imbalances and helping you become a more well-rounded athlete.
Develop your surf mobility and fitness using the three core elements:
Dynamic Mobility Patterns
Building your mobility using progressive movements, linked together to create a dynamic flow. The exercises aim to stretch and strengthen; increasing your body's ability to move freely.
Surf Specifics
A surf focus for each session: to work on a particular component within the demands for surfing progression.
HIIT Finishers
Accessing your explosivity for a big finish to the session. Using exercises that transfer directly into your surfing whilst challenging your metabolic pathways.
